Design of digital leakage ammeter for lightning arrester based on Internet of Things

The monitoring of lightning arrester is very important to maintain the safety of power grid. In view of the technical problems such as unreliable leakage current data, difficulty in power supply for meters and untimely data transmission, a design scheme of digital leakage ammeter of lightning arrester based on Internet of Things (IoT) is proposed. This paper carries out work from the aspects of structural design, local display, energy charging and power supply, signal acquisition, lightning strike counting and program design to achieve reliable sampling data, stable data transmission, self-energy power supply, and functions of on-site inspection and remote monitoring, which can better meet the needs of field applications. The arrester has been installed and applied in many substations in Jiangsu Province, China. An example of its application in Suqian substation is given in this paper.
