Future Solar Electricity Cost Analysis Based on Perovskite Photovoltaic Technology

Photovoltaic (PV) technology is projected to lead global power generation by 2050 due to its renewable and costeffective nature. This research focuses on the future efficiency and cost developments of perovskite PV technology, a promising alternative to traditional silicon PV technology. The study reveals that double-junction perovskite modules can achieve an optimal efficiency of $\mathbf{3 0. 7 \%}$. Additionally, perovskite modules are significantly cheaper than silicon-based ones, thanks to lower material costs and simplified production processes. By 2040, the cost of perovskite modules could drop to $0.25 \yen/ W$. Consequently, initial investment costs for PV plants are expected to decrease substantially, and electricity costs could be reduced to $0.067 \yen/ \mathrm{kWh}$ with advanced perovskite technology.
