Theoretical Foundations and Synthesis of Spinel-Type Ferrites Using the Nitrate-Citrate Method
Ferrites are a class of ceramic magnetic materials that have wide applications in electronics, telecommunications and magnetic recording. One of the effective methods for the complex ferrites synthesis is the nitrate-citrate method, which is based on the use of metal nitrates and citric acid for the formation of complex precursors, which after heat treatment form ferrites. The paper examines the principles of spinel-type ferrites compositions designing, which are based on information about the subsolidus state of phase-forming oxides. Based on the synthesis products phase composition prediction the rational compositions for the most energetically favorable conditions for cobalt and nickel ferrites obtaining have been determined. The results of the fine ferrite powders synthesis using the nitrate-citrate method and the prospects for their further use are also discussed.
