Natural Rubber Latex as a Sustainable Modifier in Cementitious Materials: Mechanisms, Performance, and Environmental Implications
ABSTRACT This review highlights the role of natural rubber latex (NRL) as a sustainable alternative to traditional synthetic material in cementitious applications. It discusses advancements in latex technologies and their implications for enhancing cement performance, particularly regarding fluidity and bonding properties. The review also emphasizes innovative bio‐based approaches that strengthen and increase the durability of cementitious materials. Highlighting the potential of NRL to reduce the carbon footprint in construction industry while enhancing material performance, this review builds on existing knowledge, identifies key research gaps, and explores future research directions.
