Nghiên cứu đề xuất hoàn thiện các tiêu chuẩn bảo vệ chống ăn mòn cho kết cấu bê tông và bê tông cốt thép
According to international experience, the total damages due to corrosion, estimated based on Vietnam's GDP, could be more than USD 12 billion. Proper corrosion protection can significantly reduce these damages. In the construction industry, following corrosion protection standards in recent years has notably improved durability and economic efficiency. However, the three current standards related to this issue - TCVN 9346:2012, TCVN 12041:2017, and TCVN 12251:2020 - are not fully compatible nor harmonized. Therefore, revising these standards is urgent and included in the Plan for Compiling and Upgrading the National Standard System for the Construction Industry, issued under Decision 390/QD-BXD dated May 12, 2022. Based on an analysis of international experience and the existing outstanding issues in these three aforementioned standards, this paper proposes ways to improve the standards for corrosion protection of concrete and reinforced concrete structures. Specifically, it is essential to focus on reviewing TCVN 12251:2020 based on the related Russian standards. Key issues, such as corrosion protection in marine environments, classification of aggressive exposure conditions, material requirements, initial chloride content limits, concrete cover thickness requirements, and crack width limits, shall possibly be studied and revised. Additionally, it is necessary to prepare and publish the technical recommendations, standardized test methods, and guidelines for selecting concrete proportions to meet waterproofing requirements in support of the application of this standard.
