EFFECTIVENESS OF REJUVENATING POTATO VARIETIES USING ARBIVIR AND RIMANTADINE FOR CONDUCTING CHEMOTHERAPY IN COMBINATION WITH THE MERISTEM CULTURE
The article highlights the results regarding the effectiveness of rejuvenation of potato varieties using antiviral drugs Аrbivir and Rimantadine for conducting chemotherapy in combination with meristem culture. The objective of the research was to develop and optimize effective methods for rejuvenating and improving the quality of seed potatoes of new potato varieties and increase their multiplication rate using virus inhibitors (Arbivir, Rimantadine) and growth regulators. Research methods– isolation of meristems was carried out according to the generally accepted method aseptically from the apex of the cone of growth of etiolated shoots. Research results. The use of the antiviral drug Rimantadine during chemotherapy revealed a stimulating effect on plant regeneration. Thus, Zhytnytsia variety had 4,75 pcs of roots and their length was 41,6 mm, which is 0,42 pcs and 1,8 mm more than in the control variant. The height of plants was 28,7 mm, which is 2,2 mm higher than the control variant, the number of internodes was at its level. Slauta variety had 3.79 pcs of roots and their length was 37,2 mm, which is 0.15 pcs and 1,3 mm more than in the control variant, the number of internodes was 3.12 pcs, which is 2,5 mm more than in the control variant, the height of plants was 32,3 mm and was at its level. As for Misteriia variety, all indicators, except for the length of the roots, were at the level of the control variant. The antiviral drug Arbivir, on the contrary, inhibited the growth and development of plants of all studied varieties. Indicators of the number and length of roots, as well as plant height and the number of internodes were lower than in the control variant. Conclusions. Thus, it was found that the antiviral drug Rimantadine, at a concentration of 50 mg/l, has a stimulating effect on the growth and development of regenerant plants: the number and length of roots, plant height, and number of internodes of the improved lines of Zhytnytsia, Slauta, Misteriia varieties. The antiviral drug Arbivir, at a concentration of 50 mg/l, inhibited the morphogenesis of potato plants of Zhytnitsa, Slauta and Misteriia varieties.
