Dual Linearly Polarized 2x4 Subarray Antenna for Phased Array System in Satellite Communications
To create a more efficient and reliable satellite communication system, a phased array antenna with a polarized transmitter and receiver is required, especially in environments with high interference and a need for high data capacity. To support this specification, a circular dual linearly polarized circular patch array antenna was designed at a frequency of 12.55 GHz with rhombus-shaped feeding. The proposed antenna design achieved an S11 parameter below -14 dB, a high gain of 11.76 dBi, a bandwidth of 916 MHz and dual linear polarization. The comparison between cross-polarization and co-polarization at phi=90 and phi=0 effectively transmits and receives electromagnetic waves with vertical and horizontal electric field orientation. The result of antenna simulation is compatible with phased array systems in satellite communication systems.
