The Application of Impedance Spectrum Analysis in Cable Fault Detection
As an integral part of power transmission, cable plays an indispensable role in promoting human progress. With the cumulative use, the cable life is limited and the frequency of failure is increasing. Cable local fault types are generally divided into damage and aging. The input impedance spectrum detection technology of cable is based on the transmission line theory. This method can obtain the position information function of cable local fault by integrating the impedance spectrum algorithm. In this paper, the parameter model of the cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) coaxial distribution cable is established by simulation, and the cable impedance spectrum is visualized. By analyzing the influence of different fault types on input impedance spectra, the variation rules of different faults are obtained. Finally, by studying the principle of cable location based on integral transformation, the location of single and multiple local fault points of cable is realized, and the feasibility of this method is verified.
