3D Reconstruction Techniques for Visualization of the Internal Carotid Artery in the Brain Vascular System
This study explores the integration of 3D Time-of-Flight Magnetic Resonance Angiography (TOF MRA) and advanced 3D reconstruction techniques to improve the visualization of the internal carotid artery. Utilizing DICOM data, the research involved preprocessing steps such as skull stripping using the HDBET algorithm, denoising with morphological operations, and optimizing window width and center to prepare high-quality imaging data. The post-processing stages included 3D reconstruction via the Marching Cubes algorithm, meshing to form detailed polygonal networks, and smoothing with the Laplacian filter to enhance the model's geometric accuracy. The study demonstrates significant advancements in medical imaging, providing a clearer, more detailed anatomical representation, crucial for accurate diagnosis, surgical planning, and treatment of cerebrovascular conditions.
