Jammer Localization Using Time Difference of Arrival Algorithm in 5G Mobile Networks
Jammers are electronic devices engineered to disrupt radio frequency communications by transmitting a broadband noise signal across a specific bandwidth. This paper presents a method using 5G technologies to determine the transmitter’s location by processing the signal received by multiple antennas. Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA) algorithms estimates the jammer’s position within a controlled environment. The experimental results demonstrate high accuracy, with Root Mean Square Errors (RMSE) consistently below 0.25 meters. This level of precision highlights the method’s potential to enhance the resilience of future 5G networks against jamming threats. These findings underscore the effectiveness of integrating TDOA-based localization techniques in 5G networks for proactive jamming detection and mitigation.
