Material Characterization for Phantoms in Microwave SAR Evaluation
In this study, a tissue-equivalent phantom was fabricated and characterized to evaluate the specific absorption rate (SAR) in microwave hyperthermia applications. Initially, both static and dynamic thermal properties, including thermal conductivity and specific heat capacity, were analyzed, while electromagnetic properties such as permittivity and conductivity were determined using the coplanar waveguide method. The results indicate that the phantom effectively replicates the properties of human tissue, enabling realistic simulations and advancing research on hyperthermia treatment through enhanced thermal and electromagnetic characterization.
