Operation Control and Dynamic Characteristics Analysis of Grid-connected HIESSC System
As the penetration rate of renewable energy sources increases, the issues of limited voltage support capacity and low inertia are becoming increasingly prominent. The high inertia energy storage synchronous condenser (HIESSC) is considered as a promising solution for providing both voltage and frequency support for the grid. However, the research on HIESSC primarily focuses on the investigation of topological structure and equivalent circuit. In this paper, the operation control strategy for multiple operating conditions of gridconnected HIESSC system is proposed. Besides, a rotor speed controller is obtained for the rotor speed adjustment. Then, power balance relationship within HIESSC is investigated. Finally, the operating characteristics of grid-connected HIESSC system are analyzed through simulation. The simulation results show that based on the proposed control strategy, HIESSC can realize the fast decoupling regulation of active power and reactive power and the operation under multiple conditions.
