Analysis and Design of a Dual-Band Reflectarray with a 3D Metallic Unit Cell
This contribution introduces a novel design of a dual band 3D fully metallic unit cell intended for use in reflectarray configurations for satellite communication applications. The main novelty of this research lies in the application of the geometric phase principle to achieve a unit cell capable of independently controlling the phase of the reflection coefficient in two distinct frequency bands (20 and 30 GHz) while maintaining high polarization purity. We also propose an efficient analysis approach for the final dual reflectarray configuration using a combination of geometrical optics and physical optics, providing both good accuracy and numerical efficiency for electrically large structures.
