CPW-Fed Circularly Polarized Antenna on Biocompatible Resin Substrate for 2.4 GHz Implantable Application

A CPW-fed circularly polarized antenna operating at a frequency of 2.4 GHz is designed in this paper. The overall size of the antenna design is 25 × 30 × 3 mm3, with Titanium as the conducting element while biocompatible resin is utilized as the substrate material. Simulations are conducted in CST software to analyze S11 parameter ≤ -10 dB and axial ratio (AR) < 3 dB. Reduction in antenna ground enhances axial ratio to reach a value of below 3 dB. The proposed design successfully achieves an impedance bandwidth of 1240 MHz (1.97 - 3.21 GHz) and axial ratio bandwidth of 60 MHz (2.36 - 2.42 GHz). The proposed antenna has a compact size and reduces signal loss which is preferred in modern communication systems.
