Predictive Speed Control without Weighting Factors for PMSM Drives

Predictive speed control has drawn much attention in the field of AC motor drives because of its excellent dynamic response performance. Due to the significant different time constants between the mechanical and electrical dynamics of AC motors, the weighting factor tuning process is a big challenge. In this paper, we proposed two methods without weighting factor to the predictive speed control of a permanent magnet synchronous motor: sequential predictive control and dynamic sequential predictive control. The workflow of the algorithm is introduced, and the control performance of the two improved algorithms is compared and analyzed. Finally, simulation results verify that the two proposed methods have good control performance.
