Charging station layout analysis based on improved particle swarm algorithm

With the rapid development of China’s economic growth rate, the market share of purely electric private cars is increasing, and the problem of environmental and energy consumption is becoming more and more prominent. Whether the planning of the sustainable development of infrastructure such as electric vehicle charging stations is reasonable or not will become a key factor in the balanced and rapid development of the electric vehicle field. Reasonable planning of the site selection of electric vehicle charging stations not only reduces the cost expenditures spent by the operator, but also facilitates the user’s travel, which in turn leads to the development of the entire charging industry. In order to better solve the problem of EV charging station location planning, this paper proposes a charging planning model based on Voronoi diagrams, using the improved random drift particle swarm algorithm and Voronoi diagrams to jointly solve the problem, and finding the optimal number of charging stations and service range with the optimization objective of minimizing the comprehensive cost of operators and EV users.
