Parabolic Equation Numerical Solutions Applied in Long-Range and Realistic Propagation Conditions
This paper applies Split Step Parabolic Equation (SSPE) and Finite Difference (FD) algorithms in radiopropagation problems. Both techniques were tested in long-range cases for fifth generation (5G) frequency bands, when used to provide broadband connectivity in rural and suburban areas. The results showed that the conjuction of the Discrete Mixed Fourier Transform (DMFT) with SSPE offers an efficient response compared to FD method in canonical and realistic scenarios. This research also presents that DMFT-SSPE is a promising approach to analyze 5G radio links in mountainous and humidity regions.
