Dynamic Beamforming with Microfluidic-Based Digitally Coded Microwave Metasurfaces
We present a microfluidic-based, digitally-coded reconfigurable metasurface for dynamic beamforming applications. The structure is designed using conventional materials and fabrication methods commonly used in microfluidic and radio frequency devices, demonstrating the feasibility of the concept in this work. As a result, we successfully achieved the splitting of the incident field into two tilted, mirror-symmetric beams, unlike conventional reflectors, which only reflect a single beam back in the direction of propagation.
