Comparing WINNER Path Loss Models with Machine Learning at 5.8 GHz
In this study, the accuracy of various path loss models was evaluated for wireless networks, which are crucial for urban environments with variable propagation conditions. Traditional models such as the Free Space Path Loss (FSPL) model, the modified WINNER model, and the original WINNER model were compared with an advanced machine learning approach using the ADAM algorithm. Data were collected on the campus of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUCRio) at 5.8 GHz. The machine learning model demonstrated higher accuracy, surpassing the performance of traditional deterministic models.
