A study of the effect of porous media on flame propagation in hydrogen leakage self-ignition tubes Characterization
To study the influence of porous media on the flame propagation dynamics of hydrogen leakage and the suppression process, a numerical model of a high-pressure hydrogen leakage pipe section with porous media is established based on Ansys Fluent. The simulation results are compared with previous experiments and simulations to ensure the accuracy of numerical simulation and the reliability of simulation results. Analyzing the pressure and temperature of spontaneous combustion flame in the pipe and porous media, we can see that the porous media has a certain absorption effect on the pressure wave, and has a higher specific surface area compared with the ordinary pipeline, which leads to a large amount of heat loss when the flame propagates in the porous media, and analyzing the distribution of the concentration of OH radicals, it can be seen that the distribution of the concentration of OH radicals also shows a trend of increasing and then decreasing, and the activity of OH radicals decreases under the effect of the wall of the porous media. The OH radical activity decreases under the effect of the porous medium, which ultimately leads to quenching.
