The use of NYUSIM for Path Loss Characterization in an Urban Microcell Environment for IoT-5G at 3.5 GHz Frequency Band

In this paper, we use the open-source MATLAB-based NYU Channel Model (NYUSIM) simulator to analyze the path loss propagation behavior at 3.5 GHz in an urban microcell (UMi) scenario and thus compare the values that we obtained for the path loss exponent (PLE) in a corridor scenario based on an extensive measurement campaign. These PLE values can be used in simulation tools to evaluate the path loss behavior and optimize the implementation of device and sensor network infrastructure to enable IoT-5G connectivity.
