Validation of a Freehand Tri-Axial Field Measurement Setup for 3D Domains

We present a manual system for measuring the spatial distribution of the electric field, suitable for evaluating the compatibility and bio-compatibility of radiating electromagnetic systems. The system demonstrates the capability to measure the magnitude of the three components of the electric field downto 27 dBV/m, with a sampling rate of 60 Hz and a spatial error of less than 1 mm. The comparison with simulations at a frequency of 5.8 GHz shows good accuracy and dynamic range in a user-friendly system.

Abstract

We present a manual system for measuring the spatial distribution of the electric field, suitable for evaluating the compatibility and bio-compatibility of radiating electromagnetic systems. The system demonstrates the capability to measure the magnitude of the three components of the electric field downto 27 dBV/m, with a sampling rate of 60 Hz and a spatial error of less than 1 mm. The comparison with simulations at a frequency of 5.8 GHz shows good accuracy and dynamic range in a user-friendly system.
