Flexible UHF RFID Tag for On-Body Applications: Design and Performance Evaluation
There has been a substantial increase in the interest for devices directly applicable to the human body, prioritising user comfort. In this study, we developed a passive RFID tag tailored for these purposes, utilising polyimide as a flexible and low-profile substrate. The tag measures 137.80 x 27.50 mm in total and incorporates a folded dipole antenna with two integrated CSRRs to enhance its performance near the body. The maximum estimated read ranges are 3.94 m without DC input and 8.82 m with DC input on the Impinj® Monza® X-2K Dura RFID chip.
