Collaborative Solutions for LVRT Integration, Auto-Reclose, and Distance Relaying Challenges for Type-3 Wind Power Plant connected Integrated Power System
This paper explores challenges encountered in the integration of Type-3 wind and Inverter based solar power plants with the grid, focusing on protection issues in Extra High Voltage transmission lines. It investigates fault scenarios and proposes novel solutions to address them, emphasizing collaborative efforts across stakeholders. Key issues include non-operation of distance relays, delayed fault clearance, and auto-reclosure failures. The proposed solutions aim to enhance system stability, reduce mean time to restore (MTTR), and ensure compliance with Low Voltage Ride Through (LVRT) standards.
