Mobile accuracy testing of electric vehicle supply equipment
Costumer protection on electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) in Germany is first ensured by conformity assessment in laboratories and afterwards by regular reverifications on-site. While tests in laboratories are feasible, tests and inspections in everyday environments are a challenge. Not only environmental influences place special demands on the testing technology, but also the different charging characteristics of electric vehicles (EV) and technical designs of EVSE. Therefore, precise mobile test equipment is required, which are outlined in this paper. The first option is an adapter inserted into the charging circuit between an EVSE and an EV, with which various charging processes are investigated. The second option is to replace the EV with corresponding EV communication and power electronics to achieve full metrological testability of EVSE. Initial functional tests with this mobile test system will also be demonstrated.
