LETRAMENTO CORPORAL NA INFÂNCIA: REVISÃO DE LITERATURA SOBRE SUA IMPORTÂNCIA PARA O DESENVOLVIMENTO INTEGRAL DO ALUNO
Body literacy is a fundamental concept in the educational field, especially in childhood, as it influences children’s cognitive, motor, emotional, and social development. However, there is a gap in the systematic implementation of this process in schools, limiting its potential in learning and the comprehensive formation of students. Given this, the present study aimed to analyze the existing literature on body literacy, highlighting its benefits and reinforcing its importance in the school curriculum. The research was developed based on a literature review, using a deductive method and theoretical triangulation to compare different approaches on the topic. Databases such as Portal da CAPES, ScienceDirect, and SciELO were consulted, using keywords related to literacy and physical education. The results indicate that body literacy stimulates active learning, improves concentration, memory, and socialization, and contributes to healthy lifestyle habits. However, challenges such as the prioritization of theoretical content and the lack of structured educational policies hinder the implementation of this practice in schools. It is concluded that the formulation of public policies and innovative pedagogical practices that integrate body literacy into the school curriculum is essential. The adoption of interdisciplinary strategies can ensure that children develop essential skills for their overall growth, promoting a more dynamic, inclusive, and contemporary education.
