Non‐local wave equation: Time delay with second order terms
Abstract In the constitutive equation of nonlocal elasticity with a kernel of general fractional derivative of Riesz type, the time delay of the form is introduced. We call the function the constitutive equation of time delay. Second‐order terms in expansion is taken into account, and the resulting generalized wave equation is derived. The influence of parameters on the solution is studied numerically. The numerical analysis shows that time delay influences both the speed of propagation of maximal displacement and the amplitude of the wave.
