Analysis of bird ingestion events of aero-engine based on <?A3B2 pi6?>China’s bird conditions environment
The airworthiness certification of civil aero-engine requires bird ingestion test assessment. Currently, the widely used bird ingestion test requirements for aero-engine in the world mainly come from the airworthiness regulations of the Federal Aviation Administration of the United States, the European Aviation Safety Agency, and the Civil Aviation Administration of China. The FAR 33.76 is mainly formulated based on the analysis results of the FAA on bird ingestion events of multiple types of aero-engine, while China’s CCAR is formulated based on FAR 33.76 so that China’s bird conditions environment cannot be reflected sufficiently. By analyzing the geography, weight, time, and stage distribution characteristics of aero-engine bird ingestion events in China for 10 years, as well as the damage caused by bird ingestion events to aero-engines, and comparing with research results from the United States, the bird ingestion patterns of aero-engine based on China’s bird environment was summarized and the probability of different degrees of damage to aero-engines caused by bird ingestion events was evaluated. The bird ingestion patterns of aero-engines in China’s bird environment can provide a reference for conducting bird ingestion tests and safety assessments for domestic civil aero-engines.
