Evaluación del programa de sostenibilidad palmera en Colombia: Pertinencia para el sector productivo y competitividad internacional

Sustainability is an important milestone in productivity and competitiveness, and Colombia's palm oil sector is no exception. This global trend in demand for products aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) led to the creation of Colombia's palm sustainability program in 2007. However, the program's current progress is not encouraging. For this reason, it is necessary to evaluate Colombia's sustainable palm oil program in relation to the needs of the palm oil sector for 2023. The evaluation is framed within the hermeneutic paradigm, with a qualitative approach based on the grounded theory method. A registration matrix was used as a tool for the analysis of the documented information. The results indicate that, although the program is adequate for the current situation of the sector, it lacks some indispensable indicators for continuous monitoring in the logical framework matrix. In addition, it was found that the relationship between producers, the private sector and the State is crucial; fluid communication and commitment from all parties are necessary to address financing problems and achieve the program's objectives.
