ECONOMIA DO MICRODESEJO: A DITADURA DAS PEQUENAS RECOMPENSAS

The economy of microdesire describes a consumption system based on small, immediate rewards that shape individual and collective behaviors. This phenomenon is fueled by digital platforms and business models that exploit the human need for instant gratification. Examples include impulsive purchases on apps, freemium subscriptions, and frequent small transactions. The strategy capitalizes on the illusion of affordability and low cost, promoting a constant cycle of consumption that, while initially imperceptible, generates significant financial and psychological impacts. Consumers are conditioned to associate small acquisitions with immediate pleasure, contributing to a culture of permanent dissatisfaction and consumption dependence. Additionally, the excess of choices and the pressure to maximize rewards create a constant state of anxiety, complicating conscious and planned decisions. The economy of microdesire not only affects individuals but also has social and environmental implications. The generation of unnecessary waste and the depletion of natural resources reflect the precariousness of this economic model. At the same time, the valorization of microtransactions alters the perception of value, making long-term experiences and goods less appealing. In this context, society faces challenges in building sustainable consumption and preserving collective well-being. Thus, understanding and questioning the mechanisms that sustain this economy is essential to promote more balanced and responsible alternatives.
