Responsabilização de empresas em obras de grande impacto no Brasil:

The present work aims to analyze the impacts of a large-scale infrastructure project on the operational territory, using the deductive qualitative method with documentary research from national and international legal bibliographies. It aims to analyze the impacts of a large-scale infrastructure project in its area of operation, focusing on the emblematic case study of the Xingu Nightclub. Through this analysis, the study aims to understand different perspectives and arguments regarding the accountability of the companies involved in the construction of the Belo Monte Hydroelectric Plant (UHE) for the increase in the sexual exploitation of adolescents in the region. Based on this case analysis, the study intends to address the limits of the concept of "causal nexus," considering how it has traditionally been applied jurisprudentially by courts and other mechanisms in the context of civil liability for damages. This will be analyzed considering the expectations established by the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, which call for companies to respect human rights.
