RATIONAL ANALYSIS OF CHOOSING TECHNICAL SOLUTIONS OF 2TE35A DIESEL LOCOMOTIVE FOR EASTERN POLYGON
The problem of finding rational technical solutions for 2TE35A mainline autonomous locomotive for Eastern Polygon of Russian Railways is considered. It is found out that, in general, designs of a diesel locomotive are rational in terms of accelerating the construction of a diesel locomotive and putting it into production. A number of design disadvantages of the locomotive have been identified, which, in particular, include the use of a high-speed diesel engine with a maximum rotational speed above 1800 min-1, the design of the bogie with an upper intermediate frame, which increases bogie weight, a large number of friction pairs in the bogie structure, as well as deterioration of coupling properties and an increase in unsprung mass in the case of using a rigid gear wheel in a traction transmission. According to the main traction indicators, 2TE35A diesel locomotive does not exceed the promising domestic diesel locomotives developed about 40 years ago. A magnetic clutch booster is proposed for further enhance traction properties in order to ensure the ability to work with trains weighing 9,000 tons. For the design of the clutch booster bogie dimensions with wheel diameter of 1080 mm include an arc-shaped asynchronous motor.
