Experimental study on the deposition and adsorption mechanism of fluorescent nanoparticle tracers in sandstone reservoirs
Abstract Chemical tracer testing technology is one of the important means for reservoir characterization. By injecting chemical tracers, effective reservoir information under specific conditions can be obtained, such as the inter-well connectivity between injection and production wells, the evaluation of enhanced oil recovery after polymer injection, and the estimation of residual oil saturation. In this study, fluorescent silica nanoparticles were selected as tracers. Through core displacement experiments, the adsorption and retention characteristics of these nanoparticles on the surface of sandstone reservoir rocks were investigated, as well as the factors affecting the migration, adsorption, and retention of particles in sandstone reservoirs.
