Friction and wear properties of GH3536 alloy honeycomb

The friction and wear properties of the GH3536 alloy honeycomb with GH4169 alloy grinding ball and Ti60 alloy grinding ball were studied. The experiment was carried out under room temperature with reciprocating motion, and the normal load were 2 N, 4 N, and 6 N respectively. The experimental results show that the friction coefficient between honeycomb and GH4169 alloy grinding ball is 0.45− 0.55 and that between honeycomb and Ti60 alloy grinding ball is 0.34−0.36 under different normal loads. The wear rate of the honeycomb increases with the increase of normal load. Under the same normal load, the wear rate of GH4169 alloy grinding ball on honeycomb is significantly higher than that of Ti60 alloy grinding ball on honeycomb, mainly because the hardness of GH4169 alloy is significantly higher than that of Ti60 alloy. The wear mechanism of the honeycomb and GH4169 grinding ball is abrasive wear, adhesive wear and fatigue wear.. The wear mechanism of the honeycomb and Ti60 grinding ball is adhesive wear and fatigue wear. During friction and wear, the top of the honeycomb wall will be plastically deformed and form an umbrella-like shape.
