ANALYSIS AND ASSESSMENT OF DEMOGRAPHIC STATISTICS AND GEOGRAPHICAL DISPLACEMENT OF POPULATION IN MODERN UKRAINE AND IMPACT ON BORDER TERRITORIES

The invasion of the armed forces of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, which started on February 24, 2022, has caused serious losses to the fragile social and humanitarian situation in Ukraine, and a humanitarian catastrophe of a scale not seen in Europe since 1945 is now becoming increasingly probable. While the human and economic losses from the war continue to rise, the question arises of what to do after the war, and how to develop the affected settlements and regions, especially those located in the border areas. An analysis and assessment of demographic statistics and the geographical distribution of the population in modern Ukraine was conducted, based on the data collected by various organizations and the government of Ukraine. The comparison of the two periods was made, which shows the situation with the population in the border regions of Ukraine and the country itself as a whole.
