Since the resilience of generations is associated with the preservation and development of personal identity, the individual’s personal ability for self-development is transformative in nature and stimulates life resources, which, in turn, serves as a guarantee of the individual’s security in the profession and life. The subject of the study was the personal identity of an economics student as a subject of education and social development. The relationship between personal concepts of student safety and general and professional categories of personal identity is shown. An associative experiment has revealed that students with a professional identity category express subjective characteristics that serve as a guarantee of security. Students are confi dent that they can infl uence safety in life based on their personal characteristics. The future profession will become safe provided that subjects demonstrate high skill, move forward, engage in continuous development, and have confidence in the future.
