A UWB MIMO Antenna Using h-Shaped Fractals
A four-port MIMO antenna using inverted h-shaped fractal monopole antennas is presented in this paper. Two monopoles are placed orthogonally on each side of the substrate to facilitate better isolation. Metamaterial unit cells are used between the monopoles to reduce mutual coupling between the monopoles. The antenna gives a bandwidth of 8.25 GHz, from 5.03 to 13.28 GHz, and a mutual coupling of less than -17.91 dB. Simulation result using CST MWS shows a satisfactory envelope correlation coefficient (ECC). The simulation result also agrees with the standard mean effective gain (MEG) as well as diversity gain (DG) threshold value.
