Coati Optimization Algorithm Based 3DOF-FOPIDN Controller Approach for Improvement in Frequency Stability of an Isolated Microgrid
In order to manage the load frequency of an islanded microgrid (MG), this research suggests using a coati optimization algorithm-based cascaded three degree of freedom (3-DOF) and fractional order PID (FO-PID) controller. For fine tuning of suggested controller an advance meta-heuristic technique coati optimization algorithm (COA) is explored. By comparing the suggested cascaded controller's outcome with that of the FOPID, 3DOF-PID, and PID controllers, its superiority is verified taking ITAE as an objective function. The suggested algorithm's performance is compared to that of the grey wolf optimizer (GWO), sine cosine algorithm (SCA), and particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm while taking into account various load disruption patterns in the MG in order to determine its level of competence in this regard. The results of the simulation confirm that the suggested control method increases the MG's frequency responsiveness, showing minimum undershoot and overshoot with less settling time as compared to the other algorithms.
