Load Frequency Controller Design using GWO Algorithm
This work uses a novel metaheuristic technique in a power system to optimize the load frequency control (LFC) parameters while considering the proportional integral derivative controller (PID). This paper investigates the efficacy of the PID controller for LFC in a two-area system. The best parameter is found using the grey wolf optimization (GWO) algorithm to minimize the time domain objective function. The efficacy of the proposed algorithm is confirmed under various operating scenarios and system parameter fluctuations by comparing it with competitive methods. The MATLAB/SIMULINK application is used to obtain simulated controller performances.
