Comparison of GIS fault testing methods based on product detection
In response to the imperative for monitoring decomposition products in C<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">4</inf>F<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">7</inf>N/CO<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf> mixtures employed in eco-friendly gas-insulated switchgear (GIS), this study elucidates a sophisticated detection methodology anchored in the spectral characteristics of these byproducts. In this manuscript, a suite of controlled experiments, leveraging the analytical prowess of Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS), is presented to identify and quantify the decomposition products. The empirical findings reveal a plethora of compounds, encompassing carbon oxides and carbon fluorides, each bearing distinct spectral signatures. This breakthrough highlights the efficacy of the proposed method in monitoring and analyzing the decomposition products of C<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">4</inf>F<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">7</inf>N/CO<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf> mixtures, thereby bolstering the safety and reliability of GIS equipment.
