Design and Implementation of IoT-Based Smart Home System
This paper elaborates on the design, implementation, and testing process of a smart home system based on the Internet of Things (IoT). The system adopts a three-tier architecture (perception layer, network layer, and application layer), integrating functionalities such as security monitoring, environmental control, and energy management. The implementation leverages open-source hardware and cloud platforms, ensuring flexibility and scalability. Testing covers aspects including functionality, performance, and security, with results showing excellent performance in key metrics such as functional completeness, concurrency handling, and network attack defense. Performance testing confirms stability and efficiency under normal and peak loads. Security testing validates reliability in network, data, and physical security. Despite minor optimization needs under extreme conditions, overall, the system demonstrates outstanding functionality, reliable performance, and robust security, providing a smart, efficient, and secure home solution for modern households. The design and implementation not only meet current smart home demands but also lay a solid foundation for future feature expansions and performance enhancements.
