Notes on the Analysis of Crossed Wire Scatterers with Junction by a Fast MoM-Based Code with Step Basis Functions

This paper investigates the implementation of the method of moments with step basis functions to analyze structures of crossed wire scatterers with junction. For this purpose, a developed MATLAB code based on it is used. The considered characteristics to represent the electromagnetic scattering capability of the structures include: current distribution, radar cross section and backscattering cross section. These characteristics are obtained using this code for different scatterers. The effectiveness of using the method of moments with step basis functions is verified by comparing its results with data published in previous publications, obtained numerically using different basis functions or methods, analytically and experimentally. The efficiency of the developed code was evaluated by comparing the required computational cost with that of another modeling system for the same structures. The developed code proved its ability to give accurate results and reduce the computational cost required for this purpose.
