Mathematical Model for Estimating Beam Attenuation in the All-Optical Network with Decentralized Control

This paper describes a method for estimating the attenuation of a light beam in a high-speed all-optical network based on matrix N×N switches with decentralized control. The problem of finding patterns of electromagnetic fields in a biaxially electrically anisotropic lithium niobate crystal, underlying switching elements is solved. Analytical expressions for the reflection coefficient of the structure are found, and the attenuation of the beam associated with its incomplete reflection is estimated, and qualitative dependences for the energy potential of the commutator are presented. The results obtained can be useful for building information networks of high capacity and high complexity.

Abstract

This paper describes a method for estimating the attenuation of a light beam in a high-speed all-optical network based on matrix N×N switches with decentralized control. The problem of finding patterns of electromagnetic fields in a biaxially electrically anisotropic lithium niobate crystal, underlying switching elements is solved. Analytical expressions for the reflection coefficient of the structure are found, and the attenuation of the beam associated with its incomplete reflection is estimated, and qualitative dependences for the energy potential of the commutator are presented. The results obtained can be useful for building information networks of high capacity and high complexity.
