Influence of the Shape of Dielectric Element installed in the Gap of the Rod on the Characteristics of the NRD-waveguide
Currently, the development of small-sized communication systems and positioning of objects in space, as well as increasing the throughput of information transmission systems, is closely related to the development of microwave technology, new shapes and forms of functional nodes. At the same time, metal-dielectric devices operating from the K band on the basis of irregular sections or sections of connection of several structural elements are of particular interest, which ensures the formation of a new element base. The description and analysis of wave processes contributes to the search for phenomena and the development of recommendations for their practical application. In this paper, we propose a study of the influence of the shape of a dielectric element installed in the rupture region of the NRD waveguide rod. As part of the work, an assessment of the characteristics of a node with a dielectric element of various shapes and dimensions installed in the gap of the dielectric rod of the NRD waveguide was obtained. The results obtained during the work showed the influence of the shape and size of the gap on the selective properties of the node. It is revealed that with an increase in the gap, the transfer capacity decreases, which is associated with the supercritical mode of operation of the waveguide. The obtained research results can be used in the construction of filters based on the NRD waveguide.
