Numerical study on the effect of ignition energy on flame development <?A3B2 pi6?>in centrally staged combustor based on ED model
Aiming at the ignition process of the engine, based on the energy deposition (ED) model, the user defined function (UDF) was used to simulate the single pulse spark plug discharge process under different ignition energy conditions. The influence of ignition energy on the ignition process of a centrally-staged combustor was studied, and the minimum ignition energy under the design condition of the centrally-staged combustor was explored. The results show that the flame development path and trend are basically the same under the condition of successful ignition. Increasing the ignition energy does not affect the flame propagation path, but only shortens the time for the initial fire core to develop into a stable flame after the ignition of the combustion chamber. The energy of the initial fire core can be transferred to the countercurrent region and form a stable flame core, which is a necessary condition for successful ignition. When the ignition is carried out with the minimum ignition energy, even if the combustion chamber can be successfully ignited, the flame propagation is time-consuming and extremely unstable.
