Optimizing Urban Farming with Smart Aquaponics Systems
This study employs the Prototyping Development Life Cycle model to investigate the functionality of various components, including temperature sensors, pH sensors, pumps, MCU boards, artificial light, and water level sensors, in an aquaponics system. The research aims to assess the accuracy of these components in regulating environmental conditions and maintaining optimal system operation. Participants include the aquaponics system's main aquatic tank, alongside the aforementioned sensors and equipment. Methodologically, tests are conducted over three days to evaluate the performance of each component in achieving desired outcomes. Findings indicate that the integration of advanced sensors and MCU boards significantly enhances the efficiency of aquaponics systems, making them viable for urban farming applications. Consequently, it is recommended to utilize these components in aquaponics systems to effectively monitor and manage environmental parameters, thereby enhancing system efficiency and sustainability within the Prototyping Development Life Cycle framework.
