In Vitro Vascular Permeability Modulation in Venous Endothelium With Sirolimus
healing by 24 weeks (OR, 2.5; 95% CI, 1.4-4.6;P .005).Severe PNI was associated with increased recurrence within 1 year (OR, 3.8; 95% CI, 1.7-5.6;P .001)compared with normal and mild PNI.Conclusions: Most patients presenting with a VLU have poor nutrition and immunocompetence as defined by PNI.Increasing PNI affects the severity of the ulcer at presentation and influences VLU healing and recurrence.Assessing and addressing nutrition and immunocompetence may improve the outcomes of VLU management.
