Exploring Seasonal Variability in Endovenous Ablation Outcomes for Chronic Venous Insufficiency

were on average 104% (n 70) larger than before BPB.Additionally, there is an inverse correlation (R 0.76) between vessel size and the increase in diameter after BPB.Vessels less than 2 mm (n 29) had a 184% average increase, whereas vessels greater than 2 mm (n 41) had a 46% average increase (Fig 2).One patient's BPB was not effective. Her vein diameters were smaller intraoperatively, likely due to cool operating room temperature. This patient was excluded from data analysis. All fistulas have remained patent at the time of their last clinic visit. Conclusions: This data suggests that preoperative vein mapping measurements can be significantly augmented after BPB, thus increasing the availability of vessels previously deemed unusable/marginal by preoperative vein mapping. The effect of BPB is more profound on veins in the forearm.Failure to see venous dilation suggests an inadequate or failed block.Further investigation is needed to determine the long-term efficacy/maturation rate when using these newly available veins.Data collection is ongoing.
