IVC Stent Erosion Into the Duodenum Treated With Open IVC Stent Extraction, Suction Thrombectomy of IVC, Partial Hepatectomy, Duodenectomy, IVC Resection, Roux en y Duodenojejunostomy, Pyloric Exclusion, and Gastrojejunostomy
Duodenocaval fistulas (DCFs) are a rare diagnosis with less than 100 cases reported. In the literature, there are no reports of IVC stent erosion causing a duodenocaval fistula. Reported is a cause of IVC stent erosion into D2 and D3 of the duodenum requiring stent explanation, IVC resection, and suction thrombectomy of the left iliac vein by vascular surgery, followed by intestinal reconstruction via a Roux-en-y duodenojejunostomy, jejunojejunostomy, pyloric exclusion, and gastrojejunostomy by surgical oncology.
