Building the world’s first large language model designed for competition lawyers

We built the world’s first AI‑powered search and answer engine designed specifically for competition lawyers. This can be used to generate answers to competition law questions based on competition law materials and showing the source used to generate the answer so the lawyer can independently validate how the answer was reached. We then built the world’s first large language model designed for competition lawyers to improve the process where the tool searches for the best competition law source that can be used to answer a question. This article provides an overview of the approach we took and demonstrates the substantial benefits that AI can have for the practice of competition law.

Abstract

We built the world’s first AI‑powered search and answer engine designed specifically for competition lawyers. This can be used to generate answers to competition law questions based on competition law materials and showing the source used to generate the answer so the lawyer can independently validate how the answer was reached. We then built the world’s first large language model designed for competition lawyers to improve the process where the tool searches for the best competition law source that can be used to answer a question. This article provides an overview of the approach we took and demonstrates the substantial benefits that AI can have for the practice of competition law.
